Andrew McHattie's LeJog - Statistics

Land's End to John O'Groats Solo Bike Ride 13th-27th July 2008

Statistics

Here are some final statistics for my LeJoG ride.

My total distance was 936 miles, which took me 61 hours and 32 minutes in the saddle. The average daily ride was 4 hours and 24 minutes.

In terms of speed, my average worked out at 15.2mph; my top speed was recorded on the first day, at 45.9mph.

The other figure which is interesting is my weight. I lost only one pound in weight over the fortnight - down from 11st 9lbs to 11st 8lbs. I was focused on making sure I ate enough 'fuel' to keep going, so this is not as surprising as it might seem. I hope, though, that I may have converted some of my fat into muscle - it would be nice to think the 61 hours of exercise had some benefit.
